21-DAY EXPERIENCE
π The Curiosity Challenge
21-Day Happiness Experience
What if the answer you need is somewhere you've never thought to look?

Experience is useful.
Knowledge is useful.
Expertise is incredibly useful.
They help us recognize patterns, make decisions and solve problems faster.
But there's a curious side effect to knowing your world very well:
You become very good at looking where you've looked before.
Same sources.
Same assumptions.
Same perspectives.
Same ways of approaching a problem.
And sometimesβ¦
the interesting possibility is hiding somewhere else. π
For the next 21 days, we're going looking.
π It begins with one question
Leo Buscaglia was an Italian-American educator, university professor and author known for his work on learning, human connection and living fully.
He often recalled a simple ritual from his childhood.
His father, an Italian immigrant who deeply valued learning, wanted his children to bring something new to the family table.
A fact. A word. An idea. A discovery.
Behind it all was one question:
What did you learn today?
Simple.
But hidden inside that question is a powerful expectation:
There is always something I don't know yet.
For 21 days, we're going to take that idea much further.
Because this Challenge isn't about collecting interesting facts.
It's about discovering what curiosity can do.
πΌ When the old answer meets a new problem
The better you become at your work, the more shortcuts experience gives you.
You recognize the situation. You've seen this before. You know what works.
Excellent.
Until⦠the situation changes.
The customer changes. Technology changes. Your team changes. The market changes.
Or a problem arrives that looks familiar⦠but isn't.
That's when expertise needs a companion.
Curiosity.
The ability to pause before the obvious answer and ask:
What am I assuming?
What am I missing?
What else could be true?
Where else could I look?
Not curiosity as entertainment.
Curiosity as a way of thinking.
π 21 days of looking somewhere else
Every day, HappiU will take your curiosity somewhere it might not normally go.
Into research. Into an unfamiliar idea. Into a different perspective.
Into a question you've probably never asked.
Into something you thought you already understood.
Perhaps occasionallyβ¦ into a rather unexpected corner. π
You won't simply read about curiosity. You'll use it.
Discover something. Question something. Investigate something. Try something. Reconsider something.
And then return to Buscaglia's little question:
What did I learn today?
But by Day 21, your answers may look rather different from Day 1.
Because you're not here to collect 21 answers.
You're here to discover new ways of looking for them.

π§ Where might curiosity take you?
We're keeping the 21 missions secret. Obviously. ππ But we can show you a little of the territory we'll explore.
π§ Learning & memory β Research suggests that when we genuinely want to know something, curiosity can create conditions that support learning and memory. So we'll investigate a useful question: can wanting to know change the way you learn?
π‘ Creative thinking β The first answer isn't necessarily the only answer. Curiosity encourages exploration, alternative perspectives and divergent thinking. Useful when the problem sitting in front of you refuses to behave like the last one.
𧩠Problem solving β Sometimes we're so busy finding the solution that we forget to investigate the problem. Curiosity creates a small interruption: are we asking the right question? That interruption can be surprisingly useful.
π€ People & leadership β Curiosity doesn't only change how we approach ideas. It can change how we approach people. There's a considerable difference between βI know what they mean.β and βI wonder what I'm missing.β One closes the conversation. The other might open it.
π Adaptability β Knowledge matters. But knowledge ages. When industries, technologies and roles change, the ability to keep learning, questioning and updating what you know becomes increasingly valuable. You don't need to have every answer. You need to remain capable of finding new ones.
And that's only part of the map. Magic Bean has hidden the rest. ππ
A little science
π§ The science behind the adventure
Curiosity isn't simply a charming personality trait.
Researchers have investigated its relationship with motivation, learning, memory, divergent thinking, innovation and workplace behaviour.
In one influential neuroscience study, Matthias Gruber and colleagues found that states of high curiosity were associated with activity in brain systems involved in reward and memory, and with better subsequent memory for information people were curious to learn.
Research on curiosity in the workplace has also explored its relationship with divergent thinking, innovation and openness to other people's ideas.
Interesting? Absolutely.
But HappiU isn't going to make you spend 21 days reading research papers. π
Instead, we'll take selected discoveries and ask:
What can you do with this?
Because science becomes much more interesting when it leaves the page and enters Tuesday afternoon.
π Discover. Question. Experiment. Apply.
This is the rhythm underneath your 21 days.
π Discover β Encounter something you didn't know yesterday.
β Question β Use it to disturb something you normally take for granted.
π§ͺ Experiment β Take the idea into real life.
π± Apply β Explore where this way of thinking might be useful to you.
Not every discovery will change your life. Thankfully. That sounds exhausting. π
Some may simply make you think: βInteresting.β
Others may follow you into a meeting. A conversation. A decision. A problem.
And one or two might change where you look next.
π§° What might you take back to work?
After 21 days, we don't expect you to know everything. Magic Bean attempted this once. It didn't go well. π But you may leave with:
- Better questions before jumping to answers
- New ways to approach familiar problems
- Greater awareness of assumptions you normally miss
- More willingness to explore unfamiliar perspectives
- Practical ways to generate possibilities before choosing one
- A more curious approach to conversations and disagreement
- New sources of ideas and knowledge
- Greater comfort saying βI don't knowβ¦ yet.β
- A simple ritual for continuing to learn after Day 21
Perhaps most importantly, when something difficult lands on your desk, another question may begin appearing:
Where else could I look? π
What's waiting for you
21 Curiosity Missions
Research, questions and tiny real-life experiments designed to take your thinking somewhere new. The actual missions remain classified. π
A curious creative project
It begins almost empty. Then, little by little, things begin to connect. There may eventually be paper. There may be coloured wool. That's already more than we intended to tell you. π
Your Curiosity Journal
A place for discoveries, questions, experiments and unexpected connections. At the end, your 21-day journey can become a personal downloadable keepsake.
Your HappiU Passport reward
Unlocked when you complete your Challenge. A little evidence that you followed your curiosity somewhere new.
And perhaps Magic Bean has hidden something else along the way. We're learning not to ask. π
π± A little note from HappiU
Curiosity isn't about knowing more than everyone else.
Quite the opposite.
It begins with being willing to say:
I don't know.
And then adding one very useful word:
βYet.β
You don't need to question everything.
You don't need to become fascinated by everything.
And you certainly don't need another programme telling you to optimize your brain. π
We're simply going to spend 21 days keeping one little door open.
Another explanation. Another perspective. Another possibility. Another question.
Because what you already know is valuable.
It just doesn't have to be the only place you look.
