Who we are

HappiU is an online wellbeing service offering Experiences, reflections, discoveries and personal tools designed to help people bring a little more happiness into everyday life. In this policy, “HappiU”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the HappiU service.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use HappiU, we may collect:

  • Account information, including your email address and the first name you choose to provide.
  • Information you enter voluntarily, such as quiz answers, Experience progress, Journal entries and reflections.
  • Purchase information, such as the Experience purchased, payment status, amount, currency and transaction reference. Payments are processed by Stripe. HappiU does not directly store your full card details.
  • Communications, including messages you send to us and your email preferences.
  • Technical information needed to operate, protect and troubleshoot the service, such as request, browser, device and security information where available.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure your account;
  • provide Experiences, save progress and create the Journal you request;
  • process purchases, confirm access and keep transaction records;
  • send service and Experience emails you have requested or expect;
  • respond to questions and support requests; and
  • maintain, protect and improve the reliability of HappiU.

We do not sell your personal information.

Journal and reflection content

Content you add to a HappiU Journal or reflection space is private to your account. It is used to save your progress and generate the personal Journal you request. HappiU records when a Journal is generated, but does not keep a separate copy of the generated Journal file.

After you complete an Experience, its temporary reflection space is scheduled for deletion after seven days. Download any Journal you want to keep before that period ends.

Service providers and third parties

We use service providers where necessary to run HappiU, including providers for website hosting, data storage, account authentication, email delivery and payments. They may process information for us only as needed to provide those services. Stripe processes payment details under its own privacy terms.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the security and rights of HappiU or others, or as part of a business reorganisation where appropriate safeguards apply.

Cookies and similar technologies

HappiU uses essential browser storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember necessary settings, save temporary onboarding or quiz state, and support progress through the service. The current HappiU service does not use advertising cookies. You can control browser storage through your browser, but blocking essential storage may prevent account or personalised features from working correctly.

How long we keep information

Temporary Experience reflections follow the seven-day deletion period described above. Other information, including account, access and purchase records, is kept only for as long as needed to provide HappiU, keep the service secure, resolve issues and meet applicable obligations. Retention may differ depending on the type of record and why it is needed.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to certain uses, or receive a portable copy. You may also change your email choices using the options provided in HappiU emails.

To request account deletion, or to make another privacy request, email us from the address connected to your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request. Some limited records may need to be retained where the law requires it or where needed to establish or protect legal rights.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong password and keep your sign-in details private.

International processing

HappiU and the providers that support it may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, appropriate measures are used to protect personal information during those transfers.

Children

HappiU is not designed for children who cannot legally consent to the use of an online service in their country. If you believe a child has provided personal information without the required permission, please contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as HappiU develops or requirements change. The “Last updated” date will show when the policy was most recently revised. If a change is important, we will provide an appropriate notice.
