7-DAY EXPERIENCE
Three Good Things
A classic Positive Psychology experiment. Seven evenings. Three good things. One simple question: why?
Inspired by the pioneering research of Martin Seligman and colleagues.

What if seven evenings could change what you notice?
At the end of each day, you'll pause for a few minutes and remember three things that went well.
They don't have to be extraordinary. A conversation. Something you finished. A moment of kindness. A small pleasure you almost forgot.
Then comes the part that makes this practice especially interesting: why did it happen?
For seven evenings, you'll explore that question and begin to notice not only the good things themselves, but also the people, choices, circumstances and sometimes your own actions that helped make them possible.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE EXPERIENCE
One of Positive Psychology's most iconic practices
The Three Good Things exercise grew out of the pioneering work of psychologist Martin Seligman, one of the founders of Positive Psychology.
In a well-known randomized study by Seligman and colleagues, participants were asked each evening to write down three things that had gone well that day and their causes.
The exercise was remarkably simple. Yet participants who practiced it for one week showed increased happiness and decreased depressive symptoms, with benefits still measurable months later.
That's what makes this little experiment so fascinating:
something very small may change the way we notice our lives.
A little note from HappiU
This isn't about pretending every day is a good day.
Some days are difficult. Some are boring. Some simply don't cooperate. βοΈ
Three Good Things doesn't ask you to ignore any of that.
It simply invites you, before the day ends, to look once more and ask:
βWas there something good here too?β
Sometimes the answer is obvious.
Sometimes you'll have to look a little harder. ππ±
Your experience
- 7 evenings
- Three good things a day
- A few minutes at a time
- AI-assisted reflection
- Your paper journal
You reflect. Magic Bean asks another question. π±
This HappiU Weekly includes a small AI-assisted reflection.
After you've written about something that went well and why you think it happened, Magic Bean may offer another perspective or ask you a question to help you look a little deeper.
There are no correct answers. Magic Bean won't interpret you, judge your response or tell you what you should feel grateful for.
It simply helps you stay curious. And you always decide what feels true for you.
Your reflections belong to you. π
What you write during the reflection is used only to support that session and is not saved to your HappiU account.
Before leaving the page, you'll be invited to copy anything you'd like to keep into your paper journal.
This page won't remember it.
You will. π±
